  2. Fiscal Stamps in Power of Attorney: US$ 8.00
  3. Fiscal Stamps in Application Form: US$ 8.00
  4. Certification of Existence: US$ 30.00 (legal entity registered in Panama)
  5. Search of name’s availability: US$ 75.00 (background)
  6. Fiscal Stamps in report of name’s availability: US$ 8.00 (each page)
  7. Fiscal Stamps in Certificate of registration: US$ 4.50

Expenses of payment of taxes:

  1. US$ 100.00, for Registration Taxes of the Ministry of Finance and the Economy (ten years).
  2. US$ 4.50, for Registration Taxes of the Ministry of Commerce and Industries. (registration of application).
  3. US$ 10.00, for Registration Taxes of the Ministry of Commerce and Industries. (submission of application).
  4. US$ 6.00, for BORPI Publication (BORPI=Spanish Acronym for Bulletin of Registration of Industrial Property).
  5. US$ 3.20, for DIGERPI Surcharge (DIGERPI=Spanish Acronym for General Directorate of Industrial Property Register)

These prices do not include expenses of dispatching of documents, translations and/or legalizations which are necessary if the documents come from a foreign country.

Requisites required by the Department of Industrial Property Register are:

  1. Power of Attorney. Our office provides the text and sends it to be signed. If the applicant is a foreign natural person or legal entity the corresponding apostille must be attached to such document or it must be authenticated and legalized.
  2. Application Form. Our office fills out and submits the corresponding form.
  3. Certification of Applicant’s Existence. If it is a Panamanian legal entity, such Certification must be issued by the General Directorate of the Public Register, it must indicate if it is outstanding and who is the legal representative; if (s)he is a Panamanian natural person s(he) must bring a photocopy of his/her personal identity card (cedula). If it is a foreign legal entity the certification of existence must be issued by the corresponding register authority and  the corresponding apostille must be attached to such document or it must be authenticated and legalized, it must indicate if the society  or company is outstanding and who is its legal representative; if s(he) is a foreigner natural person s(he) must bring a photocopy of his/her personal identity card and a photocopy of his/her passport.
  4. Sworn Statement of Brand Usage. If the applicant is a Panamanian or foreign legal entity, the statement must  be issued by the legal representative of  the society or company, if it is foreign the corresponding apostille must be attached to such document or it must be authenticated and legalized; if (s)he is a natural person, Panamanian or foreigner, such statement must be issued by the applicant, if s(he) is foreigner the corresponding apostille must be attached to such document or it must be authenticated and legalized. Our firm draws up the statement and sends it to be signed.
  5. Seven product labels, art of logo or design.
  6. Receipt or proof of payment of the taxes of the Ministry of Commerce and Industries and the Ministry of Finance and The Economy. Once the payments are registered, such proofs are submitted along with the application form and other documents.
